Glenfield - Water Engineers to the World

 August 2009 saw the commissioning of a new £300,000 investment at Glenfield Valves that is good news for customers, employees and the company alike.

As well as providing new facilities for shot-blasting and painting, the new system automates the transfer of products between the two processes. It's capacity is sufficient to accommodate all sizes of valves manufactured a the Kilmarnock factory - up to 1800mm for Gate valves and 2200mm for Butterfly valves.

"Automation of valve transfer is a big step forward compared to handling by forklifts and cranes with a lot of operator involvement, which is what we had to use before," explained Managing Director Jon Badrock.

"Similarly, spray painting now takes place in an enclosed booth under controlled conditions. for our staff, and also ensures that the paint finish is applied to the highest standards".
